Key features of the project


Project Partners :


Institut Pasteur (Paris, France) is in charge of the global project coordination and promotion.


4 institutes are implementing the country-specific components of the project:
the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (Phnom Penh);
the Institut Pasteur du Laos (Vientiane);
the National Health Laboratory in Myanmar (Yangon);
the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology in Vietnam (Hanoi).


Health-relevant authorities of the concerned countries.


Key topic-specific international organizations (WHO, FAO, etc.).


Beginning of the project : 01 March 2013


Signature of the partnership between AFD and Institut PasteurPr Alice Dautry General Director of Institut Pasteur and Mr. Dov Zerah general Director of AFD signed the official document in Phnom Penh on 12th March 2013



Lifespan of the project : 3 years (2013-2016)

3 types of interventions within the project framework:


- Capacity building for participating laboratories;
- Support for public policies in the area of intervention defined for each country;
- Networking and sharing methodologies and information at the national and regional level.

Monitoring and Evaluation of the project


Periodic Knowledge Translation Platforms will propose a dynamic set of approaches connecting research and policy processes with the objective of closing the gap between evidence and practice.

Working Groups involving researchers, clinicians, policy makers and communities using health care.

International Steering Committee to set annual operational objectives, strategic orientations and monitor the progress of the project towards its objectives.

A pool of technical experts is constituted and will be solicited to guide partners to fulfill their WP objectives
